What happens to what you type, in plain terms.

Your conversation

What you type is sent to Anthropic, which runs the model that writes the answers. That is unavoidable — it is how the answer gets written — and it is governed by their terms as a processor. Nothing else receives the text of your conversation.

San Fran keeps no database. The conversation lives in your browser tab, in session storage, so that reloading the page does not wipe an answer you were halfway through. Closing the tab ends it. There is no account, no history, and nothing to log back into.

What is not collected

  • No account, no name, no email address, unless you write to us.
  • No conversation history stored on a server.
  • No selling or sharing of conversation content with advertisers.
  • No cross-site tracking, and no advertising profile built about you.

Sponsored placements

A sponsored card can appear below an answer. To choose one, the topic of the current conversation is sent to the Zeekend exchange, along with whether the card was shown and whether it was clicked. The advertiser learns that their placement was shown against a conversation about, say, winter trips to Iceland. They do not learn who you are, and no identifier is built to follow you elsewhere.

Storage in your browser

  • Session storage holds the current conversation so a reload does not lose it. It is cleared when the tab closes.
  • Local storage holds one thing: whether you chose the light or dark theme. Nothing else, and nothing about the conversation.

Hosting and logs

The site runs on Vercel, which keeps ordinary server logs — request times, IP addresses, error traces — as any web host does. They are used to keep the site working and are not joined to conversation content.

Children

San Fran is not intended for children under 13.
